The chalice used at Mass is recognized by Catholics as a powerful symbol of the priesthood and the Eucharist. Our parish has begun a new program designed to encourage parishioners to pray regularly for vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
At the conclusion of Sunday Mass each weekend, a traveling chalice will be presented to an individual or family who has volunteered to take the chalice home and pray and reflect on vocations. This family or individual would use it as a focal point for daily prayer during that next week in support of religious vocations.
Along with the traveling chalice, a manual which includes a suggested prayer schedule, examples of prayers and information regarding vocations will be provided. The chalice and manual will then returned the following Sunday before mass so it can be presented to another individual or family.
Please call the office if you are interested in participating in this program. Thank you for your prayers in helping to promote and support vocations!
